Guppy House

I can't remember the last time I hung out with any of my friends aside from work. I've been working late hours the past few weeks so when I get a day off, I'm content with just being at home with my sister & Meeko, watching a movie and food.

Anyways, after a long while of being home though it's good to go out for some fresh air and wasting $ on unhealthy foods right?

Two of my good girlfriends Rosine & Lillian and I got together at went to Guppy House in Hacienda Heights. Extremely terrible service and C+ food but whatever, it's just a spot that's good to hang out and catch up.

Ate more than I should've tonight.. picked off of Lillian's Kimchi Fried Rice, Rosine's Beef Noodle Stew, my own Taro + Mango Shaved Ice, and a shared Coconut Brick Toast. You bet I didn't go to sleep before making a #2, haha.

Alcove Café & Bakery

I do not keep in contact with many people whom I went to high school with. Simply because many of them are away for school, doing different things, and too busy. But there's a phrase that puts all of those excuses into the dumpster.

It meant the world to be when one of my best girlfriend, Christy, who I met back in high school (freshman year) attended my graduation at FIDM. We don't talk daily and text here and there but when we get together it's just like how it was 4-5 years ago. I was really happy that we were both fortunate enough to find time out of our busy schedules to get together.



We went to Los Feliz to this adorable cafe called the Alcove Café & Bakery. Christy's also a heavy yelp-er like I am so I'm glad that we both don't have any issues with picking a place to eat or hang out at whenever we do get together. Every time we do, it's always somewhere new so it's exciting. I haven't written a review for Alcove yet but my salad was 4.5 stars which means I will definitely be returning.

Danielle knows that I'm a bag-a-holic and so when she got this new MBMJ bag she texted me first thing and refused to send me a photo since she wanted to surprise me (and make me jealous) in person. I'm not a big MBMJ fan but this bag is pretty damn delicious in person. It's exterior is smooth pebbled leather, brown leather trim, and the interior is canvas.

I couldn't find this bag online but she got it at the MBMJ boutique however I did find something similiar..

The Boy That Hates Vests

If I were a boy I would probably be this guy. His name is Ben and he's one of my good friends that I made through FIDM :) He's a Visual Communications major and aside from being a student and blogger he's a stylist (and many other things since he's a multi-tasker, workaholic, and hard worker like moi). He recently posted some photos from a photo shoot that he did and I spotted the vest that we got on a trip to Wasteland in Santa Monica several weeks ago when we were having dinner with a few of our friends.

Since tribal and festive colors and prints are in, I really wanted to show you all how perfect this vest is!

Knight and Day.

Another habit I should of picked up on as to why I have been getting chubs is that when I wake up to take Jennie to school, I find myself drooling watching her eat milk & cereal or whatever she's eating. I usually stay good and just go straight back to my bed but then there are days where I'm bad and can't seem to fight the hungry monster. Today was one of the bad days.

Ended up microwaving last night's dinner. XO Eggplant and Mayo Walnut Shrimp.

Tonight's dinner includes:
-Instant orange chicken
-Wannabe Greek Salad
-Peas
-Corn
-Sweet Potato Chips
-Kane Diet Cola

This is just sad.
One of the skills I lack is cooking and it's important to know how to cook :(
I really need to spend some more time to learn how to cook more because it's the one category I am failing at being the #1 Big Sister + I'm sure my future husband would appreciate if he married someone who would have a delicious meal waiting for him when he'd get home from work.

What originally was suppose to be a clubbing night turned into a movie night. Loved it!

I prefer techno, house, trance, rock, and even country over rap and r&b! So to pay $10 and sometimes $20 to be in a room full of sweaty girls I would never find myself associating with and guys who are just there because they want to get some dry humping action, no thanks! I much rather be munching on a bag of Hot Cheetos that'll give me some pimples and a movie any night!

There are some people who you meet in life and they become some of the greatest people you know.

Riley Mason, who was first off as my teacher, later Peer Counseling advisor, now friend. As a teacher he taught me some of the most important lessons in school, as an advisor of the Peer Counseling Program, he created some of the most amazing class activities that helped me find myself as a person. He continues to provide me with wise words of wisdom.

Today, we met up at one of the places I had bookmarked on Yelp, & been wanting to try, The Corner Bakery in Pasadena. I finally got to meet his pup Twinkie who is a total sweetheart! My sister also joined us since I had picked her up from summer school and didn't stop by home. We finished off the day before we went home grocery shopping at Trader Joe's.

We try to get together at least once every month if our schedules allows us to but regardless, he's become a Facebook addict so our friendship is far from the rocks!

It's very rare for all of my girlfriends & I to have an entire day or part of a day off where we can actually get together so we took advantage when we found out we were all available today! We went to (my) favorite cafe to eat and laugh for hours. Highlight of my day, good food and good friends. Priceless!
